Since you’ll be joining our team, we thought you might like to know a little more about our organization.

Here’s some background info for you:

Founded in 2000, The Asperger’s Society of Ontario (ASO) is the only non-profit organization in Ontario solely devoted to serving the Asperger community. We offer direct support to individuals with Asperger Syndrome (AS), their families and caregivers, and provide information and resources related to Asperger Syndrome to the public in an effort to improve public and professional awareness and acceptance of the unique challenges, strengths and needs of individuals with AS and their families. We offer a free ActionLine to help anyone with a question, concern or need relating to Asperger Syndrome, a website populated with service and informational resources specific to AS, and active social media sites where we share news and information about Asperger Syndrome. We also host social groups for adults with Asperger Syndrome and Parent and Caregiver Support Groups across the province. All of our services are offered free of charge. We are an extremely efficient charity, void of most operating and overhead costs and with very minimal expenses.

As a non-profit, registered charity organization, we don’t receive any government funding and we rely solely on donations and fundraising efforts in order to provide the services we do. With 99.7% of the ASO’s revenue generated through donations and fundraising events, you can understand how important opportunities like this are for our charity!

What’s fantastic about the STWM event is that 100% of the funds raised go straight to the ASO. That means your contributions won’t go to marketing campaigns or office supplies, but will go directly to where they are most needed – helping people and families touched by Asperger Syndrome.
Pretty amazing, right?

We are a very small, volunteer-driven organization with big heart, and we are really glad to have connected with someone like you who is interested in giving back to the community. We can’t wait to tackle this event with you on our team!
