Ongoing Services Provided by the Society Requests for Information The Aspergers Society of Ontario responds to telephone and email requests for information from individuals with AS, families and professionals. We provide information on AS and on resources and services available throughout Ontario. For family or professional support, contact Margot Nelles at 416-651-4037 or email . Due to the large volume of calls and e mails to the Society, it may take some time to respond to requests for information. Please lend us your patience and understanding as we continue to grow as an organization. Workshops and In-Services Upon request for in-services and through our workshop series, we provide regular education and training to families, professionals, schools and social service agencies regarding AS on a fee-for-service basis. For workshops and in-services contact Margot Nelles at 416-651-4037 or email . Social Interaction and Parent Support Groups We operate groups for children 8 to 12 years old diagnosed with AS on a fee-for-service basis. The groups are run in cooperation with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (Clarke site) and overseen by Dr. Leon Sloman of the Child, Youth and Family Program. Contemporaneously with the children’s groups, we operate parent or caregiver groups that provide information on family issues, education, and treatment from our leaders and guest speakers. Adult Social Group We organize a monthly social group for young adults with Asperger Syndrome, ages 19 to 30+ in the Greater Toronto Area. The focus of the group is socializing, establishing relationships and enjoying a variety of recreational activities in the community. There is no fee for this program.
