Facebook - The Asperger’s Difference

The Asperger’s Difference: a film for and about young people with High-Functioning Autism and Asperger Syndrome is a DVD and accompanying discussion guide developed by Program Director Jamey Wolff and Dr. Jane Nofer, Clinical Director of the Center for Spectrum Services. The film is a 31 minute, documentary-style piece designed for adolescents and young people with High-Functioning Autism and Asperger Syndrome and features three articulate young people with AS talking about their experiences, challenges and hopes for the future. The DVD may be viewed alone or in groups, with or without an instructor, parent or therapist, and is accompanied by a study guide to help individualize material. The Asperger’s Difference seeks to help young adults understand their diagnosis of AS and promote self-advocacy among this group. It may also be viewed by typical peers as part of a diversity curriculum, family members, educational and clinical staff as well as others in the greater community touched by Asperger Syndrome.
