Blog - Stimeyland – Get your quirk on

Stimey enjoys reading, writing, movies, zombies, Bob Dylan, and most things pop culture. She also likes small, amusing rodents. Stimey's work has been published in many anthologies and is proud to have been selected as a top autism blog by both Babble and The Stir. She is also listed on Radical Parenting's 50 Best Mom Blogs list.

Get to know me:

Stimey believes rodents are funny, autism may be different than you think, and that if you have a choice between laughing and crying, you should always try to laugh…although sometimes you may have to do both.

Jean Winegardner is many things: mom to three kids, one of whom is on the spectrum, blogger, contributing writer to Thinking Person’s Guide to Autism, and columnist at The Washington Times. Diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome as an adult, she advocates not only for her children, but for herself. Funny, honest, and self-deprecating, she wrote in one post, “I am like Buzz Lightyear: I am falling with style”. In Stimeyland, she writes about parenting, the chaos of everyday life, and the horror of discovering that her children’s pet gerbils had spawned.
