Blog - Mama’s Turn Now…How my son with Aspergers is teaching ME to be Happy!

Concept:

Sharon started this blog in 2011 because it was cheaper than paying a therapist! Seriously she needed an outlet and a way of connecting to other parents who for lack of a better way of putting it, "GOT IT!". She shares the good stuff and sometimes the not so good stuff about raising both her children, being a mom, a writer, wife and well all the other hats she wears too.

Get to know me:

I’m Sharon or as my kids refer to me, MAMA! Jay is my 13 year old who just so happens to have Asperger’s Syndrome. Gracie is 11 and guess what… she doesn’t.

Sharon, AKA MAMA, is an award-winning freelance writer, author, parenting expert and humor columnist for Westchester Family magazine in NY. She has written numerous feature articles and essays which have appeared in many different Regional, National and International publications including: Chicken Soup for the Soul: Raising Kids on the Spectrum. Her first book, The Don’t Freak Out Guide to Parenting Kids with Asperger’s which was co-written with fellow parenting expert and licensed counselor Neil McNerney, was released October 9th 2013.
